1. Getting Started
1.1 Creating Your Account
To start using ForFriendSake:
- Download the app from the iOS App Store
- Sign up with your email address or phone number
- Verify your account through the confirmation email or SMS
- Set up your profile with a username and optional profile photo
- Grant necessary permissions (location, notifications) for full functionality

- iOS Version: iOS 18.0 or later
- Device: iPhone or iPad
- Storage: Minimum 100MB free space
- Internet: Active internet connection required
- Location Services: Required for check-ins and activity features
2. Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How do I create a squad?
Navigate to the Squads tab, tap the "+" button, enter your squad name and details, and invite friends via their username or email. You can customize squad settings including visibility and member permissions.
Q: How do I earn points?
Points are earned by checking in to activities, completing challenges, and participating in squad events. Each activity has a point value, and you must be within the designated location to successfully check in.
Q: Why can't I check in to an activity?
Ensure you're within the activity's location radius, have location services enabled, and the activity is currently active. Check-ins may be restricted by time windows set by the activity creator.
Q: Can I join multiple squads?
Yes! You can join multiple squads and participate in activities across all of them. Set a favorite squad in your profile settings for quick access.
Q: How do I leave a squad?
Go to the squad page, tap the settings icon, and select "Leave Squad." Note that leaving a squad will remove your access to squad activities and chat history.
Q: Are my location data and personal information secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard encryption and security measures. Location data is only collected when you actively use location features. Review our
Privacy Policy for detailed information.
Q: How do leaderboards work?
Leaderboards rank squad members based on points earned within specific time periods. There are weekly, monthly, and all-time leaderboards. Points reset at the beginning of each period.
Q: Can I change my username?
Yes, go to Settings > Profile > Edit Username. Note that usernames must be unique and follow our community guidelines.
3. Troubleshooting Common Issues
3.1 App Crashes or Won't Open
- Force close the app and restart it
- Ensure you have the latest version from the App Store
- Restart your device
- Check for iOS updates
- Reinstall the app if the issue persists
3.2 Location Issues
Important: Location services must be enabled for check-ins and activity creation.
If you're having location issues:
- Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services
- Ensure Location Services are ON
- Find ForFriendSake and set to "While Using the App" or "Always"
- Enable "Precise Location" for accurate check-ins
- Try toggling Airplane Mode on and off to refresh GPS
3.3 Push Notifications Not Working
- Go to Settings > Notifications > ForFriendSake
- Ensure "Allow Notifications" is enabled
- Check notification settings within the app
- Verify Do Not Disturb is not enabled
- Log out and back in to refresh notification tokens
3.4 Login or Authentication Problems
- Verify your email address or phone number is correct
- Check for verification emails (including spam folder)
- Use the "Forgot Password" option to reset your password
- Ensure you have a stable internet connection
- Clear app cache or reinstall if issues persist

- Pull down to refresh on list screens

Steps to create an activity:
- Navigate to the Activities tab
- Tap the "Create Activity" button

- Add a location (tap map to set precise location)
- Choose which squads can see and join
- Set check-in radius and time window
- Tap "Create" to publish
4.2 Managing Your Squad
Squad admins can:
- Invite and remove members
- Assign moderator roles
- Customize squad settings and description
- Create squad-specific activities
- Manage chat permissions
- View squad analytics and engagement

- Tap the Map tab to view nearby activities
- Pins show active activities in your area
- Tap a pin to view activity details

5. Account Management
5.1 Updating Profile Information
To update your profile:
- Go to Settings > Profile
- Tap any field to edit (username, email, photo)
- Upload a new profile photo from your camera or library
- Save changes when complete

- Control who can see your profile

- Block specific users

5.3 Deleting Your Account
Warning: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. All your data, including squads you created, activities, and chat history will be permanently deleted.
To delete your account:
- Go to Settings > Account > Delete Account
- Read the warning carefully
- Enter your password to confirm
- Your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days
6. Safety and Community Guidelines
6.1 Reporting Inappropriate Content
If you encounter inappropriate content or behavior:
- Tap the three-dot menu on the content
- Select "Report"
- Choose the reason for reporting
- Provide additional details if needed
- Our team will review within 24-48 hours
6.2 Blocking Users
- Go to the user's profile
- Tap the three-dot menu
- Select "Block User"
- Blocked users cannot see your activities or contact you
7. Known Issues
We're actively working on the following known issues:
- Occasional delay in leaderboard updates (refreshes within 5 minutes)
- Map pins may cluster at high zoom levels
- Push notifications may arrive with slight delay during peak hours
